Sheikh Abdurrahman Ash-Shimeeri ḥafidhahullāh said:

May Allāh protect and preserve you. The ḥadīth, may Allāh bless you, contains in its chain of transmission, 'Abdullāh ibn Muḥammad ibn 'Aqeel. The Scholars differed in assessing the strength and weakness of his narration; some consider his narration as حسن (good), while others deem it weak, and this is more correct - as was the view chosen by our esteemed sheikh Muqbil, may Allāh have mercy on him, who would weaken…

𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 (156)

Holding lengthy discussions during marriage meetings Sheikh Uthaymeen raḥimahullāh said: "...She is a stranger (ajnabiyyah) like any other woman in the market. This (speaking to a potential suitor for lengthy periods) is not permissible. The Sharia has exempted something from a matter that is forbidden. This is a rule that a student of knowledge must be aware of. If the shariah exempts something from a matter that…

Conditions for the legitimate gaze (النظرة الشرعية): Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on him, states: شروط جواز النظر إلى المرأة ستة: "There are six conditions for the permissibility of looking at a woman (for the purpose of marriiage): الأول: أن يكون بلا خلوة. Firstly, it should be without seclusion. الثاني: أن يكون بلا شهوة. Secondly, it should not be accompanied with lust/desire, for if one looks…

Why are you guys offering 'Eid Salah in the masjid this year, isn't the Sunnah to pray outside?

Response: Yes, the Sunnah is to perform 'Eid Salah in an outdoor musallaa, as we have consistently done in previous years. However, this year marks a difference due to the expanded outreach of the da'wah, which now reaches a broader audience through Masjid Umm Al-Qura (the new headquarters for MarkazUthman). Instead of isolating ourselves from the community by hosting an outdoor prayer of our own, we see this as an…

التهنئة بالعيد من فعل أصحاب النبي ﷺ

4. The practice of the Salaf was to extend Eid greetings after offering the Eid Salah.

In another wording of the second report above [as found in Al-Mughni (2/259)], Muḥammad ibn Ziyād said: فكانوا إذا رجعوا من العيد يقول بعضهم لبعض... "When they returned from 'Eid, they would say to one another..." As for extending congratulations before 'Eid by a day or more, this is incorrect and does not constitute a genuine 'Eid greeting because it is outside its proper time. 5. When replying, it is…

'EID GREETINGS

There's nothing authentic to the Prophet ﷺ in this regard, however we have some authentic reports from the Companions and the early generations: REPORT 1: عن جبير بن نفير رضي الله عنه قال: «كان أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم إذا التقوا يوم العيد يقول بعضهم لبعض: تقبل الله منا ومنكم». [حسن] Jubair ibn Nufair, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: "When the companions of the Messenger of Allah,…

When Can I'tikaaf Be Done, Is Fasting a Prerequisite, What is the Minimum Duration, and The Ruling of Having Tents in the Masjid - Abu Atiyah
Open post page View on Telegram

QUESTION: During the last 10, my masjid prays 11 units for Taraweeh, then 11 units for Tahajjud (2 different groups of imams). So what are my options?

ANSWER: Here are the different options: 1⃣. Pray Tarawih with the first group. This option is suitable for those who cannot attend Tahajjud. If you pray Tarawih with the imam until the end, you get the reward of praying the entire night, as the Prophet ﷺ said: ((مَنْ قَامَ مَعَ الإِمَامِ حَتَّى يَنْصَرِفَ كُتِبَ لَهُ قِيَامُ لَيْلَةٍ)) [رواه الأربعة وصححه الألباني] "Whoever prays with the Imam until he finishes,…

IMPORTANT QUESTION:

Question: If someone prayed the Taraweeh prayer with the first imam then left, and says: "I have the reward of praying the whole night according to the hadith: 'Whoever prays with the imam until he finishes, it is recorded for him as spending the whole night in prayer," because I started with the (first) imam and left with him? Sheikh Uthaymeen raḥimahullāh answered: As for the statement: "Whoever prays with the…
