"The principle in this matter is to adhere to customary practices ('Urf). Therefore, it is not permissible for him to consummate the marriage before announcing it as long as this is the custom. The solution is for him to agree with the woman's guardian to bring forward the date of the marriage announcement. He should host a modest banquet without overburdening himself with expenses he cannot afford. He must avoid consummating the marriage before the wedding date because if she becomes pregnant and the wedding is delayed or a divorce occurs, the woman may be accused of improper conduct.
