Less than a quarter (24%) answered correctly. That's disappointing. Ya ikhwān! It is NOT permissible to swear by anything from the creation. You are ONLY allowed to swear by Allāh, or one of His Attributes. 'Life' is among Allāh's Attributes; He is the Ever-Living (الحي); see Sūrah Al-Furqān - 58, hence why we are allowed to swear by His Life.
