Answer to the brother's question regarding Sh. Sulayman Ar-Ruhaili waffaqahullah

Note: I sought Sheikh Hussein's advice last night concerning this issue and he said: “Shawkaani would quote from the scholars of Zaydiyyah when refuting/advising the Zaydiyyah of his time.” So if this is the case with the Zaydiyyah, who are outside the fold of Salafiyyah, what about quoting a fatwa from one who is within the fold of Salafiyyah?!

Answer to the brother's question

P.S. I encourage you to visit the brothers at Masjid Istiqamah (Toronto) if possible. It's highly recommended to get into the habit of seeking knowledge in your home country before going overseas, because when you taste the sweetness of knowledge and tranquility of attending the circles of knowledge, it will override the difficulties that come with it.

Al-'Allaamah ibn Baaz rahimahullaah said:

“No one leaves off repeating after the mu'adhin except one who is deprived [of good]. Repeating after the mu'adhin carries four great virtues: 1⃣. Forgiveness of sins 2⃣. Admittance into Jannah 3⃣. Prosperity through his intercession ﷺ 4⃣. Supplication being answered after it.“ Ibn Juraij rahimahullah said: “The Salaf would remain silent for the mu'adhin [at the time of calling the Adhan] as they would remain…

The Correction relates to the honey moon stage:

Sheikh ibn Baaz rahimahullah was asked about a husband and wife who agree not to have children and whether this is allowed? The Shaikh rahimahullaah responded: As long as the woman is able to bear children, this agreement is not permissible; because the Shari’ah requires that people give concern to bearing children and increasing the Ummah. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Marry the child-bearing, loving woman, for I shall…

I came across the following post, which is generally true, but there's an important point that needs to be corrected. I'll share the post in paraphrased form and then post the correction after it Insh

The post reads: “As singles, you must understand that there are three phases you will go through in marriage: 1⃣. THE HONEY MOON STAGE: No children stage. It is you and your spouse alone. This stage is so exciting. It is like courtship in marriage. You have all the time in the world to do things together, travel together, attend seminars, retreat, date each other over and over again and have lots of fun. You can…

The future:

Narrated Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu anhu: The Prophet ﷺ said: ((يُخَرِّبُ الْكَعْبَةَ ذُو السُّوَيْقَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْحَبَشَةِ)) "Dhus-Suwaiqa-tain (literally: One with two lean shins) from Ethiopia will demolish the Ka'bah." [Bukhari, 1591]

The Present:

The current Ethiopian government has destroyed more than 20 masjids in the space of 2 months...several innocent lives have been lost and many more injured. Musaffah Al-Jibali hafidhahullah _ Don't forget your brothers and sisters in Ethiopia. We ask Allah to protect His believing servants and their places of worship.

Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the Owners of the Elephant Did He not make their plot go astray And He sent against them birds, in flocks (Ababil). Striking them with stones of Sijjil. And He made them like Asf, Ma’kul. [Taken from Tafseer Ibn Kathir]

The Kuffar of Ethiopia and their obsession with demolishing masjids | The past, present & future

The past: Abrahah Al-Ashram (an Ethiopian governor) built a huge church in Sana’ (Yemen). It was tall and beautifully crafted and decorated on all sides. He then decided to force the Arabs to make their pilgrimage to this magnificent church, just as they performed pilgrimage to the Kabah in Makkah, but this was rejected by the Arab. The Quraysh were infuriated by it, so much so that one of them journeyed to the…

But these comments are just playful banter?

Notice how the Muhajir stroked the Ansari man as a joke...but look at what it led to! Did the Prophet ﷺ make excuses after they had explained to him that this transpired from a joke? NO! Rather he censured both sides saying: دعوها leave this off فإنها خبيثة this is an evil call

This has echoes of the hadeeth of Jabir يَا لَلأَنْصَارِ‏.‏ يَا لَلْمُهَاجِرِينَ‏ ...دَعُوهَا فَإِنَّهَا خَبِيثَةٌ (وفي رواية: منتنة) Narrated Jabir radhiyallahu anhu: We were in the company of the Prophet (ﷺ) in a Ghazwah. A large number of emigrants joined him and among the emigrants there was a person who used to play jokes (or play with spears); so he (jokingly) stroked an Ansari man on the hip.…

GENERAL ADVICE

POINT 1. The Ruling of Football: Sheikh Muqbil rahimahullah said: ”الكرة نفسها واللعب نفسه ليس بمحرم، وأن تجعل لك قدر ساعة أو نصف ساعة وتتنشط على القراءة، وهذا إذا لم تجد عملاً، أما إذا كنت زراعاً أو عندك عمل فتبدأ بعملك وهو يعتبر رياضة، أما إذا لم يكن لديك عمل فلا بأس.“ “Football and playing is not Haraam as such; for one to set out an hour or half an hour to energise for reading; that is if you have no job,…

Using the Deen as a marketing tool

One day, 'Abdullah Ibn Muhaireez Al-Jumahi (A great Taabi'ee, D. 99H) went to a cloth merchant to buy a garment, and though the merchant did not know him, there was another man present who knew him. Ibn Muhaireez asked the merchant: 'How much is this garment?' The merchant replied: 'It costs such and such.' The man who knew him said: 'Don't you know who this is? This is ibn Muhaireez, so be good to him (i.e. Give…
