Recurrent Miscarriages Question: I suffer from recurrent miscarriages. Could this be related to spiritual afflictions? Answer: Recurrent miscarriage may be caused by a medical condition, such as a bacterial infection that leads to miscarriage. Such cases should be treated by qualified medical professionals, as is well known. However, if all medical examinations return normal and no physical cause is found, then the issue may be due to a spiritual affliction—specifically, the presence of spiritual entity (ʿāriḍ) residing in the womb, which can, by Allāh’s will, lead to the miscarriage of the fetus. In such cases, treatment should involve ruqyah sharʿiyyah, both through direct recitation and listening to recorded ruqyah. It is also important to consistently recite Surah Al-Baqarah, perform the five daily prayers on time, and maintain regular protective supplications (adhkār) and prophetic invocations. Additional recommended practices include bathing with ruqya water infused with lote leaves (sidr), and applying black seed oil to the lower abdomen and lower back.
