Making Up Missed Ramaḍhān Fasts During Sunnah Days A female questioner asks: She has some missed fasts from Ramaḍhān to make up. If she makes them up during the White Days (13th, 14th, and 15th) of the month of Rajab, or on Mondays and Thursdaysβ€”does that suffice? Sheikh Fat-h Al-Qadasi hafidahullah: There is no harm in doing so. She may fast them to make up, and they will be recorded as such. It will be counted as fulfilling the obligation of making up missed fasts, but not as fasting the White Days. She should not combine the intention of making up missed fasts with the intention of observing the Sunnah fasts of the White Days. Rather, she should fast with the sole intention of repayment, because making up missed fasts is obligatory, while fasting the White Days is recommendedβ€”and the obligatory takes precedence over the recommended.
