Can children see angels and the treasures of the world? Sheikh Yลซsuf Al-Jazaaโ€™iri hafidahullฤh said: As for the claim that children can see worldly treasures, there is no evidence to support this. In fact, such claims are often made by magicians and charlatans who exploit children and seek to draw near to jinn and devils in order to extract these so-called treasures. These individuals have gone so far as to commit heinous crimesโ€”such as killing children or severing their limbsโ€”to achieve their wicked objectives. Regarding the claim that children can see angels: Human beingsโ€”including childrenโ€”are incapable of seeing angels in their true form unless Allฤh grants them special support, as He did with our Prophet ๏ทบ. All ฤhthe Almighty said: {ูˆู‚ุงู„ูˆุง ู„ูˆู„ุง ุฃูู†ุฒู„ ุนู„ูŠู‡ ู… ุง ูŠู„ุจุณูˆู†} โ€œAnd they say, โ€˜Why has an angel not been sent down to him?โ€™ Had We sent down an angel, the matter would have been decided; then they would not be reprieved. And if We had made him an angel, We would have made him [appear] as a man, and We would have certainly confused them in what they are already confused about.โ€ [Sลซrah Al-Anโ€™ฤm: 8โ€“9]. More than one of the early scholars said: People are unable to bear seeing an angel in its true form. Therefore, if an angel were to be sent down, it would appear in human form, in which case people would be confusedโ€”unsure whether it was an angel or a human. Hence, they would not benefit from the angel's presence. Thus, Allฤh sent them a messenger from among themselves, a human being they could see and learn from. This was a manifestation of divine mercy and kindness to creation, as stated by Sheikh Al-Islฤm Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allฤh have mercy on him) in Minhฤj As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah (2/333).
