I hope you have taken the time to review the rulings on Zakatul Fitr. If you haven't already, here's the link: [https://t.me/masjidsahabah/566] For those residing in the West, finding eligible recipients for Zakatul Fitr can be challenging. As a result, many choose to send money abroad. If you are doing so, consider the following points of advice: Point 1: Zakatul Fitr must be given in the form of food, not money. Therefore, if you are sending funds overseas, ensure that those handling the distribution purchase and distribute food accordingly. Point 2: The most deserving recipients of Zakatul Fitr are your poor relatives. Giving to them not only fulfills your obligation but also earns you additional reward for maintaining family ties. Note: This does not include close relatives whom you are obligated to provide for, such as parents, spouses, and children. Point 3: If you are uncertain about how to distribute your Zakatul Fitr, you may entrust our brother Tawheed, who will ensure your contributions are used to purchase and distribute rice in Nigeria. The cost of rice equivalent to one Ṣā’ is £3. Any extra funds will be given as Sadaqah, in shā Allāh. If you wish to participate, please transfer your contributions to: Name: Idowu Kolajo Bank: Monzo Bank Account Number: 60215358 Sort Code: 04-00-04 When making the payment, include the number of people you are paying for as a reference. Example: £12 (Ref: 4 People). Deadline: Zakatul Fitr must be paid by Saturday, 29th March, before ‘Ishā prayer (8:30 PM). May Allāh bless you all.
