Intimacy Rights: What is the Mandatory Frequency?
Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may AllΔh have mercy on him) was asked: If a man refrains from having relations with his wife for a month or two, is there any sin upon him? And is the husband required to fulfill this obligation?
He answered:

"A man is obligated to have relations with his wife in a proper manner, as this is one of her most important rights upon him, more significant than providing her with food. The obligation of marital relations is said to be required once every four months, while others say it should be according to her need and his ability, just as he provides her with food according to her need and his ability.
