Regulating Childbirth to Ensure Proper Islamic Upbringing Sheikh Ibn Baz (may Allāh have mercy on him) stated: "If a woman has many children and finds it difficult to raise them according to Islamic principles due to their large number, there is no objection to using means to regulate pregnancy for this significant purpose, provided that such regulation does not harm her or her children. This is similar to how Islam permits β€˜azl (coitus interruptus) for such purposes and similar needs." Source: Fatwas of "Noor Ala Al-Darb" by Ibn Baz, compiled by Ash-Shuwai’ir (21/394). What should the duration of the interval be? Sheikh ibn Baz rahimahullah advices: "...If the children are many- being born at close intervals and bringing them up becomes difficult upon her, then there is no issue in either taking some pills (or contraception) or some preventative measures for a year or two – the period of breastfeeding- so that she becomes strong enough to nurture the children and able to nurture the other newly born.” [http://www.binbaz.org.sa/noor/11853] ➑️@womensbenefits
