Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah raḥimahullāh states:

«المَرأَةُ يَجبُ أنْ تُصَانَ وتُحفَظَ بمَا لاَ يَجِب مِثلَه لِلرَّجُلِ؛ وَلهَذا خُصَّت بِالاحْتجَاب، وتَركِ إِبدَاءِ الزِّينَة وتَركِ التَّبرَّجِ» "A woman must be safeguarded and preserved in ways that are not equally required for a man.
