Who Is Responsible for Paying Zakah on Borrowed Gold?
A woman says: I have gold belonging to my sister that I wear, and I will return it in the future when I get married. Is the Zakah my responsibility or hers?

The Zakat is the responsibility of the owner of the gold. Zakat is due on the one who owns the gold, unless she cooperates with her sister and [voluntarily] pays the Zakat on her sister's gold. Even a husband can pay the Zakat on his wife's gold, and it is permissible to delegate someone in paying off Zakat.
