She missed prayers for a day assuming that the yellow discharge was menstrual cycle
Question: A woman noticed a yellowish discharge and assumed it to be menstruation, so she refrained from prayer for a day, only to later realise it was not menstrual blood. Should she make up for the missed prayer?
Sheikh Abdulhameed Az-Zu'kari αΈ₯afidhahullΔh:
Yes, if she realises on the same day, she should make up the prayer. However, if the time has already elapsed, she is not required to make it up, as she was ignorant. Making up prayers is only applicable in the case of those who forget or sleep through a prayer, and anyone similar to them. As for one who was ignorant, then they are excused due to their ignorance (1).

(1) T.N. This is demonstrated by the αΈ₯adΔ«th about the man who prayed badly. After the Prophet ο·Ί taught him the correct way to pray, he instructed him only to repeat that specific prayer and did not instruct him to make up any of his previous prayers that had been performed incorrectly.
