Praying with tight fitted clothing It is not sufficient to merely cover the skin by wearing tight clothes, rather the outline of the body must also be covered. This understanding is derived from the following ḥadīth: ٠ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: ((صِنْفَانِ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ لَمْ أَرَهُمَا؛ قَوْمٌ مَعَهُمْ سِيَاطٌ كَأَذْنَابِ الْبَقَرِ يَضْرِبُونَ بِهَا النَّاسَ، وَنِسَاءٌ كَاسِيَاتٌ عَارِيَاتٌ مُمِيلاَتٌ مَائِلاَتٌ رُءُوسُهُنَّ كَأَسْنِمَةِ الْبُخْتِ الْمَائِلَةِ لاَ يَدْخُلْنَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلاَ يَجِدْنَ رِيحَهَا وَإِنَّ رِيحَهَا لَيُوجَدُ مِنْ مَسِيرَةِ كَذَا وَكَذَا))‏.‏ [رواه مسلم] Narrated Abu Hurairah: Allah's Messenger ﷺ said: Two are the types of the denizens of Hell whom I did not see: people having flogs like the tails of the ox with them and they would be beating people, and the women who would be dressed yet naked, who would be inclined (to evil) and make their husbands incline towards it. Their heads would be like the humps of the bukht camel inclined to one side. They will not enter Paradise and they would not smell its odour whereas its odour would be smelt from such and such distance. Scholars [Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 17/290] explained: The meaning of the phrase “dressed yet naked” is that the woman is wearing clothes that do not cover her, so she is clothed, but in fact she is naked, such as when she wears a thin dress that shows the colour of her skin, or a dress that shows the outline of her body, or a short dress that does not cover part of her limbs. It's Ḥarām to wear such clothing, but is the prayer valid? Sheikh Fawzān ḥafidhahullāh said: “It is not permissible to wear tight clothes which show the limbs and the shape of a woman’s body and buttocks. Tight fitted clothing are not allowed to be worn by men or women, but it is especially forbidden for women, because the fitnah in their case is greater. With regard to praying in particular, if a person prays with his ‘awrah covered in such clothes, his prayer is valid in and of itself, because the ‘awrah is covered, but he is sinning by praying in tight clothes, because he has transgressed one of the prescribed requirements of prayer by wearing tight clothes.” [Al-Muntaqā min Fatāwā Ash-Sheikh Al-Fawzān (3/454)] ➡️@womensbenefits
