Sheikh Muhammad Al-Ansi's advice (paraphrasing):

- It is incumbent upon a Muslim, man or woman, to distinguish themself from imitating the disbelievers. - Islam does not forbid what is lawful, but these sports—such as football, basketball, and similar sports—originated from the disbelievers. They invented and popularised them in order to distract themselves and others. - These games often lead to neglecting the remembrance of Allah Almighty and are not conducive to fostering unity, brotherhood, or sincere love. - The means to building bonds of love among believers have been mentioned in the Sharī‘ah For example: 1. Spreading Salaam: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'You will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I not tell you of something that, if you do, will foster love among you? Spread Salaam among yourselves.' 2. Exchanging gifts: He ﷺ also said, 'Give gifts, and you will love one another.' 3. Visiting one another for the sake of Allah 4. Asking about each other 5. Offering support and directing one another to goodness 6. Seeking knowledge together Imam Malik and others reported from Mu'adh ibn Jabal and Ubadah ibn As-Samit, that the Prophet ﷺ: 'Allah Almighty says, "My love is guaranteed for those who love one another for My sake, who sit together for My sake, who visit one another for My sake, and who give to one another for My sake."' This is the true cause of love. - My sisters, do not be influenced by what disbelievers do or by the actions of their women. They have no religion, no proper conduct, no discipline, and no clear rulings. - Women have begun to imitate men. It is not fitting for a woman to imitate a man by playing football, as it poses dangers. She might fall or be injured while playing. A woman is delicate. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'I emphasise the rights of the weak: the orphan and the woman.' Allah Almighty also says (interpreted meaning), 'And stay in your houses and do not display yourselves like the display of the former times of ignorance.' - Playing football requires sports attire, often immodest clothing. Moreover, it involves a lot of laughter, heedlessness, and forgetting the remembrance of Allah. - If you seek reasons for love, then some of these have already been mentioned. Gather in a place, study, learn, and maintain contact with the scholars, with the people of the Sunnah, by asking questions, attending lessons, listening to sermons, and lectures. - Additionally, work together on matters related to raising children, educating them, learning household skills that enable a woman to avoid mixing with men and interacting with strangers. - My advice to my brothers and sisters is to avoid practices of the disbelievers: heedlessness, entertainment, and playing these various games. Allah said (interpreted meaning): 'And do not be like those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient.' - My advice to you is also to read the biographies of the female companions, the Mothers of the Believers, and the righteous women known for their goodness, understanding of the religion, Quran recitation, spreading knowledge, and righteousness. - A woman should be righteous in her home, righteous among her family members, and righteous with her sisters. - This is a brief advice. May Allah grant us and you success. @womensbenefits
