Locking kids up to get some rest Question: I am a married woman with many misbehaving kids. Is it permissible for me to bind their hands and feet, tape their mouths, and put them in another room so I can have some rest, or will I be sinful for doing this? Sheikh Khalid Ash-Shāriḥee, may Allah preserve him, responds: This kind of harshness towards the children will cause you regret later on. Be patient with them, or separate them during playtime.
