I'm an umarried revert in my 60s with no children. I've worked as a teacher for over 35 years. In fact; teaching was my life and in my former years my career was my world and furthering it was all I cared about. I wanted security in the dunya so I worked tirelessly for a house (which I obtained back then with a mortgage). Looking back, I was firecly independent and didn't think I needed a man for anything! I never got round to getting married or having children because as I said; my work and career was my life. I regret not settling down in my twenties and I urge young brothers and sisters not to make the mistakes I did. Alhamdulilah I'm old now and helping to care for my elderly mother but I have no one to look after me! Sisters, prioritise getting married & having a family in your youth. I worked hard for my home but I have no one to share it with. I know it was Allah's decreed for my life to pan out the way it did but you all have a chance to grab the opportunities I never had!
