Does premarital compatibility testing contradict Tawakkul (reliance on Allah)? Sheikh Abdulhamid Az-Zu'kari hafidhahullah responds: "It does not contradict it. However, many people marry without needing this test, and Allah has granted them success. Some people's children have been affected by certain diseases due to what they call plasma or similar changes in the husband and wife. Perhaps one has negative blood and the other has positive blood, causing harm to the children. This is a proven and observed matter. Therefore, if such a test is conducted before pregnancy or during delivery, the woman is given a blood regulatory injection so that her fetus is not affected. They usually ensure to administer this injection within a span of seventy-two hours max. In most hospitals worldwide, such injections are available, some specifically for viruses and others for such circumstances."
