Can a Woman Accept a Marriage Proposal After Khulʿ but Before Receiving the Court Document? Question: Shaykh, may Allah preserve and protect you, A woman obtained a khulʿ through the court. The court ruled that the marriage was annulled, but she has not yet received the written court document. She has begun observing her waiting period (ʿiddah). A man has now come forward and wishes to have the Islamically permitted pre-marriage meeting (the naẓrah sharʿiyyah). What is the ruling on this? Shaykh Ḥasan Bā Shuʿayb (may Allah preserve him), 13 Rabīʿ al-Ākhir 1445 AH: If the khulʿ has been completed before the judge, and she has observed her waiting period of one menstrual cycle, then marriage becomes lawful for her. Receiving the written court judgment afterward is simply an additional administrative matter. And Allah knows best. Source: https://t.me/womensbenefits/1837
