He Doesn't Fulfil Her Rights Regarding Intimacy Question: Please advise us, may Allah bless you, benefit the Ummah through you, and grant you victory by supporting you. A wife asks about her husband: he does not fulfil her rights regarding intimacy. He avoids it, and she is unable to bear her desire. She goes to him and asks him for intimacy, but he says to her: “I am tired. Do not ask me for this. Rise above this matter until I come to you, even if it is after some time.” She becomes upset with him and feels hurt. Sometimes she thinks about separating from him. Is it a fault or shameful for her to ask him for intimacy, because he tells her that it is shameful for a wife to ask her husband for this? We want your advice, may Allah bless you. Shaykh 'Adnan Al-Masqari, may Allah preserve him, said: She should be patient and obey her husband in this matter and in other matters. If she is unable to be patient with him and her desire is strong, then she has the right to seek khulʿ, but she should seek Allah’s guidance through istikhārah, because she may end up without a husband.
