Ruling on Wearing Banṭalūn (Trousers/Pants) for Women Sheikh ’Abdul ’Azīz ibn Bāz raḥimahullāh was asked: Q: When is wearing banṭalūn forbidden for women? Sheikh: [As for] banṭalūn, do not wear it, [it is] a clothing that resembles that of the kuffār. [Do] not [wear] banṭalūn and not others like it. It is not for a woman to imitate the kuffār nor the men, and it is not for a man to imitate the women or the kuffār. Q: What if the woman wears a skirt over the banṭalūn? Sheikh: the intent is: She does not imitate the kuffār nor the men. If the clothing is not imitating and it is clothing of her society, then there is no harm in it...but if it is from the clothing of the kuffār or specific to men, then no. Q: It is usually (worn) under the clothes. Sheikh: underneath or above; if it is from the clothing of the kuffār, (then) no. Q: Are you prohibiting wearing of banṭalūn by women? Sheikh: If it is something (that involves) imitating the men or the kuffār. Even if it is with the spouse (it is prohibited).” [https://binbaz.org.sa/fatwas/23296/1] ➡️@womensbenefits
