If KhulaΚΏ is Finalised, Can the Husband Take Her Back? Sheikh Ibn Baz rahimahullah said: If the divorce mentioned took place in exchange for compensation, then the woman is not lawful for him again unless a new marriage contract is made with all the conditions required by Islamic law. This is because a divorce given in exchange for compensation is considered a minor irrevocable separation, in which the husband does not have the right to take his wife back without a new marriage contract, as is well known.
