Many sisters when it comes to seeking knowledge find it a burden or tend to say “Why should I seek knowledge, when my only duty is being a mother and the caretaker of the home?” But in order to be a good mother you must seek knowledge on how to do so. __ Shaykh ʿAhmad an Najmī (رحمه الله) said: "The mother is the first school. If she is righteous, the children will become righteous." 📚Fatḥ ur-Rabb al-Wadud, 2/256 — Imam ibn al Jawzī (رحمه الله) said: “A woman is an accountable individual just as a man is. She is obliged to seek knowledge of her duties so that she may perform them properly.” 📚Ahkām an-Nisāʾ, pg. 38 — Shaykh Sāliẖ al-Fawzān (حفظه الله) said: “If the woman is lost, the household will be lost. If the household is lost, then the children will be lost. If the households are lost, then the community is surely lost!” 📚Muhatharah fī ʿAqīdah, pg. 162 — Shaykh Sāliẖ al-ʿUthaymīn (رحمه الله) said: “Seeking knowledge is not exclusive to the men, hence just as it has been legislated for the man that he should seek knowledge; rather it is specified upon him if his worship is not established except by way of it, then it is specified upon him, likewise then is the woman – and there is no difference.” 📚Majmuʾ Fatāwa 24/507 [✍️compiled by @taalibailm]
