Don't Try This At Home! A Muslim woman wants to separate from her husband, but he has not divorced her—what should she do? Some people from Ahl Ar-ra'yi used to say: She should leave the religion of Islam so that the marriage contract becomes invalid. Al-Marwadhī reported in Akhbār Ash-Shuyūkh: I heard ʿAbdil-Wahhāb say: I heard Ahmad ibn Al-Khalīl say: Abū ʿAlī said: I was sitting with Ibn Al-Mubārak one day when Hamzah Al-Bazzāz entered and said: “O Abū ʿAbdur-Raḥmān, a great incident has occurred.” He said: “What is it?” He said: “The daughter of Abū Rūḥ has left Islam in order to separate from her husband.” Ibn Al-Mubārak became extremely angry—more angry than he had ever been seen before. Then he said: “This is from the Book of Legal Tricks (Al-Ḥiyal). I had wished to see this book, but it was not decreed for me to see it and know what is in it.” Then he said: أَشْهَدُ عَلَى مَنْ وَضَعَ هَذِهِ الْمَسْأَلَةَ فِي هَذَا الْكِتَابِ لِحِيلَةِ النِّسَاءِ لِتَبِينَ مِنْ زَوْجِهَا إِذَا أَرَادَتْ، إِنَّهُ كَافِرٌ بالله. “I testify that whoever placed this issue in that book—as a trick for women to separate from their husbands whenever they want—is a DISBELIEVER in Allah.” Source: https://t.me/womensbenefits/1506
