The Best Jilbab Ibn Abī Ad-Dunyā reported in Iṣlāḥ Al-Māl with an authentic chain from Qays, who said: The wife of ʿAbdullāh ibn Masʿūd said to him: “Buy me a jilbāb (outer garment).” He replied: كَفَاكِ الْجِلْبَابُ الَّذِي جَلْبَبَكِ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: بَيْتُكَ “The jilbāb that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has given you is enough for you: your home.” ---- Some women today, if they heard this, would accuse their husband of being stingy.
