The example of those who lack patience and attempt to hasten the establishment of a masjid through unlegislated means is similar to that of a woman who, unwilling to wait for a suitable proposal, takes it upon herself to actively seek suitors through shameful meansโdisregarding the command of Allฤh:
"And let those who do not find the means for marriage keep themselves chaste until Allฤh enriches them from His bounty." [An-Nลซr: 33]
Salafees uphold the same principle in the matter of establishing a masjid, in accordance with the statement of the Prophet ๏ทบ:
"Whoever abstains from asking others, Allฤh will make him contented, and whoever tries to make himself self-sufficient, Allฤh will make him self-sufficient. And whoever remains patient, Allฤh will make him patient. Nobody can be given a blessing better and greater than patience." [Reported by Bukhฤri (1469) & Muslim (1053)]
Just as impatience leads some women to pursue marriage through impermissible meansโsuch as posting pictures online, contacting men on social media, wearing perfume when going out, and dressing inappropriately to attract attentionโsuch actions only expose them to harm and fitnah.
The Prophet ๏ทบ warned: "Whoever exposes themselves to fitnah will be overcome by them." [Reported by Bukhฤri (3601) & Muslim (2886)]
Likewise, those who lack patience in establishing a masjid resort to improper means: travelling from town to town begging for donations, taking pictures, making documentaries, and engaging in fundraising tactics that not only degrade themselves but also bring dishonour to their daโwah.
Just as a woman who seeks marriage through dishonourable means often fails to achieve her true goalโinstead falling prey to those who seek to exploit herโlikewise those who employ disgraceful fundraising methods become vulnerable to manipulation by Political and Hizbi groups, as experience has repeatedly shown.
"Whoever hastens something before its time is punished by being denied it." [legal maxim]
What kind of offspring can one expect from a marriage sought through such means? And what kind of results will come from a masjid built upon such foundations?
"The fortunate one is he who learns from the mistakes of others." [parable]
The worst part is that while the woman may realise her mistake and feel ashamed, those who use dishonourable fundraising methods often refuse to acknowledge their errors as they have adopted this path as a means to draw closer to Allah.
