Question: My Salafi neighbour gathers with others and speaks about me in my absence, backbiting and pointing out my shortcomings. What is the advice for this type of behaviour? What is obligatory upon him is to protect his brother’s honour. A Muslim is a shield and covering for another Muslim. It is obligatory for the Muslim to be like this. We ask Allāh to help us and you, and to keep us and you firm upon the Sunnah, upon Tawḥīd, and upon the correct creed. We have reached a time in which morals have deteriorated.
