Can we speak during the marriage meeting?
Shaykh Al-ʿAllāmah Ibn Bāz (may Allāh have mercy on him) permitted speaking with one’s prospective fiancée regarding matters that need to be known.
He said, as recorded in Majmūʿ Al-Fatāwā (20/430):
“It is permissible for a man, if he intends to propose to a woman, to speak with her and to look at her without being in seclusion. The Prophet ﷺ said when a man came to consult him: ‘Have you looked at her?’ He replied, ‘No.’ He said, ‘Go and look at her.’ And he said: ‘If one of you proposes to a woman and is able to look at that which will encourage him to marry her, then let him do so.’
Looking is more serious than speaking(1). Therefore, if speaking with her concerns matters related to marriage, housing, and her conduct and background—so that he may know whether she knows such matters—then there is no harm in that, provided he intends to propose to her. As for one who does not intend to propose to her, then it is not permissible for him.” End quote.

(1) I would like to highlight this analogy: looking is more likely to arouse desire than speaking, so if the former is permitted, then the latter is permitted as well. By the same reasoning, a woman presenting herself physically is more likely to provoke desire than having her marriage profile presented to potential suitors; therefore, if the former is permissible, the latter is likewise permissible.
