A Common Major Sin: Wife Abandoning Her Husband’s Bed It is reported in Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim from Abu Hurayrah (may Allāh be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “If a man invites his wife to his bed and she refuses, causing him to spend the night angry with her, the angels will curse her until morning.” This ḥadīth indicates that a woman’s refusal to join her husband in bed without a legitimate Shar’i excuse is among the major sins. An-Nawawi commented: “Menstruation is not considered a legitimate excuse for refusal, because the husband still has the right to enjoy intimacy above the waist. The meaning of the ḥadīth is that the curse continues upon her until the sin is lifted, either by: (a) the coming of dawn, (b) her repentance, or (c) her return to the bed.” Source: https://t.me/nnnnaan/1569
