A Woman’s Jealousy Over Her Husband’s Books It is reported from Az-Zubayr ibn Abi Bakr Bakkar that: “My niece said to our family: ‘My uncle is the best of men toward his household; he neither takes a co-wife nor buys a slave girl.’ Then she (his wife) said: ‘By Allāh, these books of his are more difficult upon me than three co-wives!’” Source: Al-Khaṭīb, Al-Jāmi‘ li-Akhlāq Ar-Rāwi wa Ādāb As-Sāmi‘
