Marriage vs. Seeking knowledge Question: Do you advise a student to get married or to pursue knowledge? Sheikh AbdulαΈ₯amΔ«d Az-Zu'kari hafidahullāh: I advise them to marry and to seek knowledge, for as long as he is able to combine the two, why should he deprive himself of such good? But if he were to say, for example, that he needs essential knowledge and perhaps is unable to marry, then we say: begin with seeking knowledge until Allāh facilitates marriage for you. As for the one who can combine both virtues, then congratulations to him. And do not believe the one who tells you that marriage distracts from seeking knowledge; you will pursue knowledge alongside your wifeβ€”both of you seeking knowledge and both of you benefitting. @womensbenefits
