Advice for Students Struggling with Exams and Temptations Question: I am about to take my final secondary school exams, and I have not memorised anything from any of the books. I am thinking of cheating by bringing notes and answers into the exam hall, but I fear that my heart may come to rely on them. At times, I also think of paying the invigilator to answer the questions for me, which happens often in our schoolβ€”but this is bribery! What is the solution? I want to get through this year so that I can devote myself to seeking true knowledge, as this year occupies me greatly and contains many fitan. I also want to free myself from my family’s reproach, their sadness, and their grief over my change in this final year, as I used to be among the most diligent students. They fear my future is ruinedβ€”they are unaware, and I ask Allāh to guide them rightly. I feel great anxiety and distress just thinking about it. What advice do you give me in this situation? Sheikh Najeeb Ash-Shar’abi αΈ₯afidhahullāh: The cheating described in your question is not permissible; it is forbidden for multiple reasons. I advise you to strive sincerely in supplication, asking Allāh to turn this fitnah away from you. Continue to persuade your family of the futility of such actions and your unwillingness to engage in them. As Allāh says: β€œAnd whoever fears Allāhβ€”He will make a way out for him and provide for him from sources he could never imagine.” [At-Talaq: 2–3] Source: https://t.me/qweasdzxcmnblkjpoik/3416
