Who Must Bear the Walฤซmah Expenses? Question: A questioner from Belgium asks: Is the wedding feast (walฤซmah) an obligation upon the ุนุฑูŠุณ groom himself, or is it permissible for someone else from the groomโ€™s family to bear its cost? Sheikh Najeeb Ash-Sharโ€™abi แธฅafidhahullฤh: It is permissible for another person to cover the expenses voluntarily, whether from the brideโ€™s family or otherwise. Note: Each of the two spouses at their wedding is referred to as ุนุฑูˆุณ (bride/groom). As for the term ุนุฑูŠุณ (groom), it is colloquial. True, it is mentioned in Al-Muสฟjam Al-Wasฤซแนญ, but that is a modern usage. And Allฤh knows best. Source: https://t.me/qweasdzxcmnblkjpoik/5556
