Having already raised this enquiry in private (plans ongoing...), I now wish to bring it forward publicly to highlight the following benefit ⤵️

If someone is dying in front of you, observe the following steps:
1. Speak only good, positive words in the presence of the dying person. The Prophet ﷺ said: “When you are in the presence of a sick or dying person, say good things, for the angels endorse what you say.”
2. Encourage the dying person to pronounce the shahādah:
لا إله إلا الله - “Lā ilāha illAllāh”
- You can prompt them gently by reciting it yourself so that their last word is the shahādah.
3. Do not engage in innovations that are not supported by the Sunnah — for example, reciting entire surahs specifically for the dying person, or other rites lacking firm evidence.
4. After the person dies, carry out the immediate realistic duties: cover the body, close the eyes and mouth, straighten the limbs if possible, prepare for the washing, shrouding and burial.
