This shows that they delayed their ṭawāf until night for the sake of greater concealment.
5. His statement: “When they entered the House, they would stand until the men exited.”
Meaning, the men were required to leave before the women entered the Ka‘bah.
Further evidence for the prohibition of freemixing specifically during ṭawāf and sa‘yi is found in the ḥadīth of Umm Salamah (may Allāh be pleased with her), who said: “I complained to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ that I was unwell. He said: ‘Perform ṭawāf from behind the people while riding.’” [Agreed upon]
Al-Ḥāfidh said in Fatḥ Al-Bārī (vol. 3, p. 481): “He only instructed her to perform ṭawāf from behind the people so that she might be more concealed, and also so that she would not disrupt their rows or cause them harm with her mount.”
