Is it permissible for a woman to style her hair in a high bun (camel hump) while at home? Sheikh Najeeb Ash-Shar’abi ḥafidhahullāh: She should not do this, neither inside the house nor outside, so as not to resemble those about whom the Prophet ﷺ said: ((نساء كاسيات عاريات مميلات، مائلات رءوسهن كأسنمة البخت المائلة، لا يدخلن الجنة ولا يجدن ريحها، وإن ريحها ليوجد من مسيرة كذا وكذا)). “Women who are clothed yet appear naked, swaying and bending, their heads shaped like the humps of camels leaning, will not enter Paradise nor smell its fragrance, though its fragrance can be detected from such-and-such a distance.” [Muslim, 2128] What she should do, if possible, is to arrange her hair in braids.
