Don't Be Overly Sensitive! Whoever lives among people must learn to endure their harm; for one who is overly sensitive to every fault, and abandons his Muslim brother for the slightest reason, will find it impossible to coexist with others. As the poet said: If you reproach your brother for every shortcoming, You will never find one whom you do not reproach. Live alone then, or preserve your bond with your brother, For he will err at times and refrain from error at others. And again: If you refuse to drink water tainted with a few specks, You will die of thirst—for whose drink is ever pure? If a person insists on drinking only perfectly clear water, free of any impurity, he will suffer from severe thirst—especially in earlier times, when people drank from wells, rivers, and ponds. Likewise, your brother will inevitably have some flaws; he is no angel. So be patient with him and bear his shortcomings graciously. #tarbiyah@masjidsahabah
