Allah says: “And when I am ill, it is He who heals me.” [Ash-Shuʿarāʾ 26:80]

ʿĀʾishah (may Allāh be pleased with her) said: “When the Prophet ﷺ was ill, he would recite Al-Muʿawwidhāt over himself. When his illness worsened, I would recite them over him and wipe him with his own hand for its blessing.” [Al-Bukhārī]
Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “The Prophet ﷺ used to perform ruqyah for the evil eye, and he commanded others to do the same.” [Muslim]
✅ 3. Daily Spiritual Protection
Maintain the morning and evening supplications, as well as those for entering and leaving the home, and before sleep and upon waking.
Evidences:
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever says: ‘In the Name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the earth or heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing’ three times, no sudden calamity will befall him until morning.” [Abū Dāwūd, At-Tirmidhī]
Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: “The Prophet ﷺ would teach them this supplication as he would teach them a sūrah from the Qur’an: ‘I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.’” [Muslim]
Allah commands: “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak” and “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind.” [Al-Falaq 113:1, An-Nās 114:1]
Two chapters of the Qur’an which were revealed by Allah specifically as protection from both apparent and hidden evils.
✅ 4. Night Prayer and Supplication
A sincere moment of seclusion between you and Allah removes distress, mends households, and extinguishes the flames of discord.
Proofs of the virtue of night prayer and supplication:
1️⃣ Allah says: “And during a portion of the night, pray with it as additional worship for you; it may be that your Lord will raise you to a praised station.” [Al-Isrāʾ 17:79]
2️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ said: “Our Lord descends each night to the lowest heaven… and says: Who is there to ask of Me so that I may give him?” [Agreed upon]
3️⃣ Allah says: “Is He [not best] who responds to the distressed one when he calls upon Him?” [Al-Naml 27:62]
The supplication of the one in distress—especially in the stillness of night—is not rejected by Allah’s permission.
▪️Fourth: Do not open the doors of your homes to envy and the evil eye!
Some spouses—unwittingly—expose Allah’s blessings in their homes before others:
By publishing personal photos (despite the prohibition of images of animate beings), resulting in destruction and envy. By flaunting luxury and worldly favours, whether in gatherings, on WhatsApp statuses, or social media. By openly speaking of marital happiness in assemblies or online.
Not long after, the household is turned upside down and tranquility is lost.
Proofs of the danger of the evil eye:
1️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ said: “The evil eye is real, and if anything were to precede divine decree, it would have been the evil eye.” [Muslim]
2️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ said: “Most of those who die from my Ummah—after Allah’s decree—do so by the evil eye.” This parallels the report: “The evil eye casts a man into his grave and a camel into the cooking pot.”
3️⃣ Allah says: “And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the Reminder.” [Al-Qalam 68:51]
Meaning: They look with such envy that it could nearly harm.
▪️Fifth: Closing Advice from a Caring Brother
* Do not hasten to divorce at the first sign of conflict.
* Do not neglect reciting Sūrah Al-Baqarah, ruqyah, and daily protection.
* Do not display your blessings, for the envious never sleep.
* Increase in supplication, and ask Allah to reconcile between you. Strive as much as possible to forgive and to mend relations.
Proofs of the virtue of reconciliation:
1️⃣ Allah says: “If they both desire reconciliation, Allah will cause it between them.” [Al-Nisāʾ 4:35]
2️⃣ Allah says: “So reconcile between your brothers.” [Al-Ḥujurāt 49:10]
