If obedience in matters of disbelief requires kindness, how much more in matters of personal judgment or leniency. Fulfill the rights of parents gently while explaining the ruling.
Fifth: If You Cannot Succeed
If you try and do not succeed, do not turn the home into a battlefield. Allāh says: “Indeed, you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills.” [Al-Qaṣaṣ 28:56]
Pray for her, repeat your advice periodically, without argument or aggression. Let your heart remain gentle and your speech sincere. By Allah’s permission, this will bring about reform.
