Ruling on Men Wearing Silver rings Sheikh Ibn Baz rahimahullah: There is nothing wrong with wearing a silver ring for both men and women because the Prophet ο·Ί and his Companions, (may Allāh be pleased with them) wore silver rings. However, it is permissible for women only to wear gold rings, because the Messenger of Allāh ο·Ί forbade wearing gold rings (for men). When he ο·Ί saw a man wearing a gold signet ring in his hand, he pulled it off and threw it away, saying: "One of you is wishing for live coal from Hell and putting it on his hand." (Related by Muslim in his Sahih) It is better for a man to wear a silver ring on his little finger as the Prophet ο·Ί used to do so. [MajmΕ« ’Al-Fatāwa Ibn Bāz, Vol.: 20; pp. 248 - 429]
