Praying in Clothing With Traces of Semen
Question:
What is the ruling on praying while wearing clothes that have traces of semen remaining after intercourse?
Shaykh Najib Ash-Shar‘abi (may Allah preserve him) replied:
The prayer is valid. According to the correct opinion, semen is considered pure.
It is only recommended to wash it if it is still wet, and to rub it off if it has dried. This is not obligatory.¹

¹ T.N. Even if this is not obligatory, standing before Allah in prayer while wearing clothes stained with such filth is contrary to the statement of Allah:
{یَـٰبَنِیۤ ءَادَمَ خُذُوا۟ زِینَتَكُمۡ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسۡجِدࣲ وَكُلُوا۟ وَٱشۡرَبُوا۟ وَلَا تُسۡرِفُوۤا۟ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا یُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِینَ}
"O Children of Adam! Take your adornment (by wearing your clean clothes), while praying and going round (the Tawâf of) the Ka‘bah." [Surah Al-Aʿrāf: 31]
