True Manliness “In houses which Allāh has permitted to be raised and in which His name is mentioned, His praise is glorified therein, morning and evening, by men...” Sheikh ’Abdurrazzāq Al-Badr ḥafidhahullāh states: Many people often speak about masculinity/manhood/manliness and what it means to be a real man. When they wish to praise someone, they say, “So-and-so is truly a man among men.” However, whoever does not attend the congregational prayer regularly is not among those men whom Allāh has praised. If one seeks true manliness, then it lies in standing alongside the men in the masjid for the five daily prayers—performing ablution and going to the masjid. It is not part of manliness that a healthy person, with no excuse, who hears the call to prayer and then remains at home praying with the women.
