How do you navigate this situation? In the hadith of Abu Qatadah (ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡), reported by Bukhari and Muslim, the Prophet ุตู„ู‰ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู„ูŠู‡ ูˆุณู„ู… said: โ€œNo one should touch his private part with his right hand while urinating.โ€ He ุตู„ู‰ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู„ูŠู‡ ูˆุณู„ู… also said (in the same hadith): โ€œNo one should clean himself (from defecation or urine) using his right hand.โ€ Sometimes, when water is not available, one has no option but to clean themselves using stones or, more commonly, tissue. However, this process is practically difficult without using both hands. So how does a man clean himself while avoiding the above prohibitions? Sheikh Abu Bilal (ุญูุธู‡ ุงู„ู„ู‡) fell ill for a few days, so his appointee, Sheikh โ€˜Abdul-Lateef Al-Hadhrami (ุญูุธู‡ ุงู„ู„ู‡), took over his classes. When this happens, Sheikh โ€˜Abdul-Lateef would usually read from Imam An-Nawawiโ€™s explanation of Sahih Muslim. During one of these lessons, the Sheikh mentioned a solution to the issue above. After quoting An-Nawawi, the Sheikh (ุญูุธู‡ ุงู„ู„ู‡) explained that one of the best solutions is to hold the stone or tissue steady with the right hand, and then use the left hand to clean. In this way, one is neither directly handling the private part with the right hand nor using it for cleaning. Another solution: It is only prohibited for a man to touch his private part with the right hand while urinating, as the wording of the hadith specifies: โ€œwhile he is urinating.โ€ Therefore, upon completion, he may use his right hand if needed and clean himself with the left. However, the first method is safer, since droplets of urine may still be present and could fall under the prohibition. Source: https://t.me/khawaaaaatir/190
