A Gift for Mothers, Wives, Daughters, and Sisters

From the Masjid Sahabah Project May Allah reward every mother, wife, sister, and daughter among us with the best reward. They are the ones who, during the month of fasting, carry burdens that would weigh down even the strong. They spend the whole month serving at home, wanting us to fast in comfort and ease. They cook at midnight while everyone sleeps, and again in the afternoon until evening. Their wish is simply that a husband or father can rest and enjoy a good meal after fasting. They combine the virtue of fasting with many other good deeds, and earn reward for all the care they give. How often does a non-fasting person earn more reward than the one fasting(1)—so what about the one who fasts while also serving others? May the Lord of the Throne reward them on our behalf, and admit them into Paradise (Al-Firdaws). My call to honourable men: be gentle with them. The Qur’an clearly advises this— to treat them with kindness and goodness.There is no good in denying their favour. Acknowledge the great virtue of women over you—if they were absent for even one day, life would become difficult.
