True Knowledge vs. Misunderstanding It is narrated that a faqeeh once passed along a road and saw a man stealing an apple and then giving it away in charity. The faqeeh asked him, “Why did you steal it? I thought you might have been hungry.” The man replied—without knowing that he was speaking to a faqeeh—“No, I am trading with my Lord.” The faqeeh said, “How is that?” The man explained, “I stole it, so one bad deed was written against me. Then I gave it in charity, so ten good deeds were written for me. So I still have nine good deeds left. Therefore, I gained nine good deeds. That is why I say I am doing business with my Lord.” The faqeeh replied, “You stole it, so one bad deed was written against you. But when you gave it in charity, Allah did not accept it from you, because Allah is good and only accepts what is good. So you are left with one bad deed.” Source: https://t.me/khawaaaaatir/72
