Whoever Disobeys Allāh Through Something May Be Punished By That Same Thing

Shaykh ’Abdullāh Al-Qusayr rahimahullah said: By Allāh, I witnessed a man in the final moments of his life who was listening to music and singing along with his car stereo. Even as he was in the agony of death, he continued to sing instead of saying Lā ilāha illā Allāh. He had disobeyed Allāh by listening to songs. After he was involved in a car accident, he kept singing although his neck had been severed. I saw it with my own eyes: his neck struck the side of the car, at the glass between the door and the front windshield, and it was cut, yet he continued singing while in the throes of death, still conscious and looking on. The Prophet (ﷺ) informed us that a person dies upon what he lived upon, and that whoever dies upon something will be resurrected upon it.
