23: Silk garments The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Do not wear silk, for whoever wears it in this world will not wear it in the Hereafter.” [Reported by Muslim (2069)] And he ﷺ said: “Gold and silk are permitted for the women of my nation, and forbidden for its men.” [Ṣaḥīḥ An-Nasāʾī (5148)] It is permissible to wear it for someone who has a skin ailment or similar condition; as narrated from Anas, who said: “The Prophet ﷺ permitted Az-Zubayr and ʿAbdurraḥmān to wear silk due to itching.” [Reported by Al-Bukhārī (5839)]
