8: Trimming the Mustache
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Ten practices are part of the natural disposition (Al-fitrah),”
and among them he mentioned:
“trimming the mustache.”

He also said:
“Differ from the polytheists; trim your mustaches.”
[Reported by Muslim 259]
Explanation: The term “trim” (aḥfū) refers specifically to cutting the mustache excessively to keep it short and tidy, not leaving it unkempt. [Al-Mufhim li Al-Qurtubi 1/514]
