Why would one exclude the Prophet ﷺ from this, especially when he ﷺ himself said women are from the delights of this world:

Hence, Allāh favoured him over all other men by giving him the freedom to marry as many women as He wished:
{إن أراد النبي أن ينكحها...خالصة لك}
[Surah Al-Aḥzāb: 50]
Allāh also granted him the physical ability to fulfill the needs of all his wives, as Anas (May Allāh be pleased with him) said: "The Prophet ﷺ used to be with his wives at the same hour of the day and night, and they were eleven in number. I asked Anas: 'Was he able to manage that?' He said: 'We used to say that he was given the strength of thirty men.'" [Reported by Bukhari (no. 284), and by Muslim (no. 309) in an abridged form]
When a woman offered herself to the Prophet ﷺ, he would sometimes look her over and then turn away, demonstrating desire.
His love for ʿĀ’ishah (May Allāh be pleased with her) was well known. Sawdah bint Zamʿah (May Allāh be pleased with her) even gave up her turn to maintain her marriage to the Prophet ﷺ, prioritising his companionship over her personal desires.

CONCLUSION:
While polygyny is mubāḥ/permissible by concensus, the above evidences prove that it is a Sunnah and a virtuous act, carrying reward when practiced with justice.
