ʿUmar ibn Al-Khaṭṭāb (may Allāh be pleased with him) said:

“I will say something that will make the Prophet ﷺ laugh.” [Narrated by Al-Bukhārī] Ibn Ḥajar (may Allāh have mercy on him) commented: “When a person sees his friend distressed, it is recommended that he speak to him with words that lighten his heart, remove his worry, and bring comfort to his mind.”
